Scissett Club is around 100 years old with formal membership of the CIU dating from 1919. The land was purchased from the Saville Estates in 1922. The building is original with various add on bits through the years.
Major improvements have taken place over the last 10-15 year, disabled facilities, refurbished concert room, car park, security fencing, rewiring etc and with Gerry keeping excellent bar, members have well supported the club.
The Covid epidemic has been challenging, but we have come through it ok. We have had a busy time getting back up to date with all the health and safety checks that are mandatory with our business.
The concert room is now back to full use with regular Saturday night entertainment. This facility is also vital for other parties who use this room including Slimming World, Tuesday individual darts league, sequence dancing group, Yoga group, Motel California band, Woodsome Beck band and Scissett Operatic society. The concert roman be made available for large functions on Saturdays, please discuss with the club secretary.
A new function in the concert room is a cinema sized big screen fed by a 7000 lens projector which has already proved popular with the euro football finals.
We have 3 SKY receiving televisions. Jukebox is available in every room.
